​Congratulations to Chris Lehman, founder of Albany Therapeutic Riding Center and 34 year volunteer as Certified Riding Instructor, for being named as a finalist in the Jefferson Awards through the Albany Times Union newspaper. The Jefferson Awards recognize community volunteers who make a positive impact with little fanfare. Chris was nominated by volunteer board member, Clare Mertz. Colleen Flynn of Delmar also attended the dinner on April 23, 2015 representing the ATRC volunteers. Please see the News and Events section for photos from the special night!


In May 2013, Chris Lehman was recognized as the first recipient of the Volunteer Citizen of the Year award sponsored by the Schenectady Gazette and Direct Energy. The award came with a donation of $5,000 to Albany Therapeutic Riding Center, Inc. This was a great honor, recognizing Chris' enduring commitment to Albany Therapeutic Riding Center, Inc. and its students.
