Albany Therapeutic Riding Center, Inc. is a Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH) Intl. Center. All of our riding instructors are PATH Intl. Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructors (CTRIs) and have undergone the proper training. This means we can offer mentorship through the CTRI process and have an Instructors in Training Program.
What does our Instructor in Training Program look like?
We offer a 14 week program in which mentees will work alongside certified instructors to complete the PATH Intl. Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor application, which involves equine handling, supervised instruction, and a video demonstration. Over the course of the program, mentees will observe lessons taught by ither CTRIs, as well as help lead and sidewalk in lessons to gain experience. They will then be given riders of their own to get hands on experience teaching therapeutic lessons, with guidance from ATRC Staff.
